Jason Pedersen - Offworlder Cover Artist

After experimenting with several different themes and ideas from Book II, all of which are full of energy and mysticism, Jason settled on portraying the briefest of moments that bridge Blue Planets and Offworlder, that moment where neither the reader nor Ridley quite know what will happen next. Created using a mixture of acrylics, oils, and coloured pencil, Offworlder's cover is one of the artist's favorite pieces and has received widespread applause in the Science Fiction community.

Educated at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Jason drew inspiration from everything around him. Since school he has worked in a wide array of artistic endeavors including: sculpting model kits, as a character designer and storyboarder for film, as a technical illustrator of prehistoric animals, and random other projects as they creep up. Jason is now living in Tucson, AZ with his wife, a spooky hamster, and a crazy young cat.
